WTG on your genetic research and welcome to the group!
I did some research with body types. Although it is hard to explain, in the results that manifested for me, I seem to have noticed that body type is definitely inherited from the female guppy. She can however, carry an unexpressed body type gene alongside with her phenotypical gene.
You may want to check to see if this is what happened.
When the Cobra was released from the AZ site it was advertised as the body type is "inherited entirely from the male guppy." THAT was an error. :-| I tested that one! :) It appeared that the body type was inherited entirely from the female guppy rather. :) It may be that ALL the guppies body types are inherited from the female guppy.
...and yes, after several generations down, I was able to get the yellow albino you speak of from the AZ stock albino fish. It's like the yellow fins are on the bottom of the stack. As I recall, I just kept breeding to get 'lighter' colors and after a few generations, viola!, there it was. In my case it took 3 breedings: I started with the 'CherryISH' (Red Devil/Diablo Delta) albino, from that breeding I used the pink/orange that resulted, and then from that breeding I got the yellow.
My brightly colored peduncle is as nice as those guppies and I'm NOT jealous of them! I'm not I tell you! *whimper* :P
