Interesting question. I used to have "real" guppies, but they were practically wild ones, and had NO special breeding (i.e. no specific color strains, no fancy fins, etc.). I just liked 'em cuz they were colorful (the boys, anyway) and they made babies like there was no tomorrow :-) They were really "user-friendly", too, requiring no special conditions. Just kept 'em in a bowl, like you would a goldfish.
