: hmmm, ok. I'll try those out. thanks!... what lighting and temp settings do you recomend?

First thing is to make sure that your male and female(s) are within childrearing ages. 100 to 300days are the optimum ages for reproduction.
If you get a message that mating occurs but a few days later you haven't received a message that pregnancy has occurred take that female out. Let the male go after someone different for a while. ;-) Also, try to get a male with a high courage and power rating.

Make sure that when you are changing your water that you use just enough Chlorine Cut to remove all the chlorine and ADD IT TO THE BUCKET, NOT DIRECTLY INTO THE TANK.

Try these tank settings. I have bred several hundred without any problem with these settings:

Tank: 768high x 1400wide (118.3 liters)
Temp: 23.9C (75.0F)
PH: 7.0
GH: 4.0
NH3: Never above .8 (try to keep in in the .2 to .5 range).
Filter: When the filter reaches 35-40% Clean it to 20-25%.
Light: 12 hours on/12 hours off.
Food: 2 spoons per adult every 8hrs will keep them well fed.
Food Types: Equal amounts Flaked, Bloodworm and Shrimp. 2XGuppy food. For example 2Flaked, 2Bloodworm, 2Shrimp, 4Guppy (feeds 5 fish).
Really, I don't think the food combination makes too much of a difference.

Good luck!
