I bred a grey tailed German Tuxedo to a German Tuxedo female. Interestingly enough, all of the male offspring (4 of them) had yellow tails. This leads me to believe that my female was "AA" and the male was "aa". I'm assuming then that the hybrid of these, "Aa", gives a yellow tail. Of course then, I'm trying to get the siblings to breed. Interestingly enough, at this point, I've not been able to get siblings to breed with each other (using 2 fish per tank). I did have a mating but no pregnancy. I'm now trying for a breeding with four fish per tank, two males and two females (all siblings). If it's simple crossover genetics I expect to get 25% of the young with a grey tail. I'll keep us posted! :) [I'm trying to get a pure grey tail.]
