: : Wellllllll... I have some bad news, it doesn't work and then it locks up your system and causes no end to troubles and you can't use the original fish you tried to make the modification to cause it doesn't work even after you try changing it back to what it originally was... and also now my 1st generation males - 8 won't load up. the program tells me 'this is not the original fish....' and all that rot. Ah well... it does allow me to access my gen1 females and the gen2 fish.... ::shrug:: No clue here.

: Um, I don't think the idea was ever to MODIFY the files, but only to try to "decode" the DNA info that may be contained within. It would help to identify which fish have which genes for better control of selective breeding.
: Sorry about the mess-up with your fishies . . . .

Laugh .. I'm one of those people that like to try and modify things, especially if the fishes were bred in a kinda stupid tank name and I wanted to try and change it's name....one of those things to do when at work and on the phone dealing with a problematic customer. And only 1 of my fishes were screwed up, I have been able to access the original copy of my fishes that my other system was giving me problems with.
Good luck Greg and anyone else trying the decode function!!!!
