I have a theory that the genetics of the color and pattern on the tail and the dorsal fin are controlled by the same gene.

I haven't seen a tail fin with say blue at the base and yellow on the outside without seeing a dorsal fin with blue at the base and yellow on the outside.

Has anyone seen anything different? Or does this theory fall in line with what everyone else is seeing?
