It looks to me like there are just two tail patterns: Small Spot, and Large Spot.

I guess that you could say that there are three if you count "solid". I don't. I think there is a gene that determines if the pattern is displayed and a separate gene that tells what the pattern is (if the first gene allows it to appear).
