: As far as a confirmation test... well, all I could suggest is whoever proposes a theory for public posting has to take responsibility for it...

: For Instance "Jevan's Theory I". The name within the theory then would give credibility to future theories... (I suppose we could even link theories to email addresses or something like that).

: Of course, theories would have to be 'screened' as to make this a serious nature and one not to be taken lightly.

: I'm still not convinced we can't trade fish tho...

: You saw Darkstar's posts in the newsgroup on tail color? ...that fish color varies according to objects in the tank (cuz of the limited 256 color palette we are all stuck with).

: I expect that Darkstar will have us examining the genes in our *.fsh files quite soon. :)

I like your idea. If someone spits out a lot of dribble their name and "reputation" is attached to it. Still though, I would think we would only want confirmed and verified theories on a "Confirmed" page.

I can understand why fish color would change. Maybe there should be a standard that fish color is judged only when they are in a plain tank with no background and gray gravel? Otherwise, it's very true that you can have identical fishes looking different on different monitors. I wish they'd upgrade from 256 colors.
